Elizabeth Arnold came to the U.S. from England in 1796 and married David Poe after her first husband died in 1805. They had three children, Henry, Edgar, and Rosalie. Dream-Land is one of Edgar Allan Poe’s most consistently misread and misunderstood poems. This poem was all about describing the setting, and Edgar Allan Poe used vivid language and sensory words to describe his image. His use of imagery captures the audience so that they can imagine the land he is trying to create. He also used end rhymes throughout the entire poem.
