The Beach House

Reader:

James Patterson was born on March 22, 1947, in Newburgh, New York, the son of Isabelle, a homemaker and teacher, and Charles Patterson, an insurance broker. By the early 1990s, Patterson had modified his approach to writing fiction, adopting a style characterized by unadorned prose, bite-sized chapters, and fast-paced streamlined plots. Realizing the sales potential of this formula, he contributed to the promotion of his novel Along Came a Spider by taking the unusual step of creating and financing a television commercial for it. In The Beach House, Jack Mullen is in law school in New York City when the news comes that his brother, Peter, has drowned in the ocean off East Hampton. But his brother was a very happy man and had no reason to commit suicide. So, Jack had to find another way to figure out his brother’s death. He had searched for another lawyer and found one named Pauline. Pauline was also a doctor and had examined Peter’s body before the funeral. She had taken samples of Peter’s lung tissue and compared it to a man’s who had actually died drowning. The photos showed that the other man’s cells were much more saturated than Peter’s. Ex-rays had also shown several broken ribs and many broken fingers. His spine was also snapped in half, which Pauline had said was the main cause of his death. Photos also showed many very defined bruised resembling fists and shoes. Jack concluded, due to this information, that his brother was beaten to death… Enjoy free online English audiobook “The Beach House”, a novel by James Patterson and Peter De Jonge.
