A fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire” by American writer George Martin is called a fairytale for adults. It combines in a harmonious way magic, dragons and medieval esthetics with sex, bloodshed and political games. The third book in the row, "The Strom of Swords”, is a worthy continuation of previous novels. The plot unwinds with Baratheon fighting with Lannisters for the Iron Throne; Robb of house of Stark and Balon Greyjoy from the sea people being in the middle of war for independence from Seven Kingdoms; and Night Watch standing strong against wild people from behind the Wall. At the east the action is fierce too. Daenerys Targaryen, the Unburnt, hammers the great slave cities with her horde and dragons. This young heir to the Iron Throne is the power, which Westeros should not underestimate. Audiobook "The Strom of Swords” is very dynamic and it is absolutely worth to listen online to.
